How to Layer for Winter in Pakistan

Winter in Pakistan is not one season. A January morning in Murree and a January evening in Karachi are different sports. Layering is how one wardrobe handles both, and a lightweight puffer is the most useful layer of all.

The three-layer idea

Layering simply means dressing in pieces you can add or remove. A base layer, such as a t-shirt or shirt. A warm middle layer, which is where a puffer jacket or vest works best. And, on the coldest days in the north, an outer coat over the top. Most days in most Pakistani cities, the first two layers are all you need.

By city, roughly

In Karachi and the south, winter usually means cool evenings rather than true cold: a puffer vest over a shirt or sweater is often the whole answer. In Lahore, Islamabad, and Faisalabad, cold mornings and nights call for a full lightweight puffer jacket, with the vest as your mild-day option. Heading to the northern areas, take the hooded puffer and layer a sweater underneath.

Why lightweight wins here

A heavy winter coat is built for a climate most of Pakistan does not have. A lightweight puffer gives comfortable warmth without the bulk, packs down easily for travel, and works from November to February across most of the country. Every VELLOR puffer is Rs 5,999 (the vest is Rs 4,499), in sizes S to 2XL, with free delivery across Pakistan.
